Singapore, 22 April 2026 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised Skye Renewables Energy ("Skye Renewables") on a multi‑country platform financing to support the expansion of its renewable energy portfolio across Southeast Asia.

Headquartered in Singapore, Skye Renewables is a portfolio company partially owned by British International Investment (“BII”) and Idemitsu Kosan Co., Ltd. (“Idemitsu”) with assets across the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and Malaysia. The financing was provided by Swiss impact asset manager responsAbility Investments AG, as part of its USD 500 million climate investment strategy for Asia, focused on scalable private-sector infrastructure solutions delivering measurable CO₂ reductions in high-growth markets.

The transaction involved coordination across multiple Southeast Asian jurisdictions and reflects the increasing sophistication of regional renewable energy financings.

The Hogan Lovells team was led by Stephen Clugston (Counsel, Singapore) and APAC Head of Infrastructure, Energy, Resources & Projects Matt Bubb (Singapore), supported by Joshua Everett (Associate, Singapore) and the firm’s Vietnam office comprising Gaston Fernandez (Office Managing Partner, Vietnam), Duong Pham (Counsel, Hanoi), Long Huynh (Senior Associate, Ho Chi Minh City) and Giang Nguyen (Trainee, Hanoi).

Stephen Clugston commented:“We are seeing growing use of portfolio financings as sponsors scale renewable platforms across different markets and project stages. We are pleased to have supported Skye Renewables on this important multi-country portfolio financing, which highlights both Skye Renewables’ strong regional platform and the continued evolution of renewable energy investment in Southeast Asia.”
