London, 20 September 2023 - Global law firm Hogan Lovells has received the PPF Trustmark, an initiative launched by the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) to provide its panel firms with a badge that recognises their expertise and high levels of service supporting defined benefit schemes in relation to the PPF’s assessment process.

The PPF Trustmark initiative is part of the PPF’s ongoing work to raise awareness of its protection and provide further reassurance to members. The badge has been awarded to Hogan Lovells and other panel firms in recognition of their specialist knowledge, collaborative working with the PPF, and commitment to delivering the highest standards of service set by the PPF.

Hogan Lovells sits on the PPF's specialist legal panel and has advised PFF in relation to the Hughes v PPF judicial review (including at the Court of Appeal level) and on correcting members’ benefits, following the Hughes judgment and the related Hampshire v PPF judgment.

Claire Southern, Pensions partner, commented: "Since it inception 2005 PPF has continuously demonstrated its commitment to protecting members of eligible pension schemes. The launch of the new Trustmark initiative further demonstrates PPF's commitment to reassuring members of schemes in PPF assessment that its panel firms deliver the highest standards of service."

Since its formation in 2005, PPF has transferred more than 1,090 schemes and looks after 300,000 members. In addition, as of March this year, around 65,000 members of schemes are going through the assessment process, all of which may benefit from seeing the Trustmark badge.
