Hogan Lovells supports WaterAid’s #TeamWater campaign to deliver clean water to millions
Houston, Baltimore, Washington, D.C. – 22 August 2025 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells is proud to support WaterAid’s #TeamWater campaign, a monthlong worldwide fundraiser launched August 1 to address the global water crisis. The campaign, spearheaded by WaterAid, Hogan Lovells’ global nonprofit charity partner, aims to raise $40 million to deliver clean water to at least 2 million people worldwide.
Hogan Lovells has played a pivotal role in enabling the campaign’s launch, providing more than 700 hours of pro bono legal support over the past 14 months. A multi-practice team of lawyers from the firm’s U.S. offices worked closely with WaterAid to develop key legal documentation required to enable the campaign, including the strategic campaign agreement with the campaign’s lead content creators, intellectual property licenses, and nonprofit fundraising agreements.
Globally, one in ten people still lack access to clean water close to home. Together, Hogan Lovells and WaterAid are shining a spotlight on the global water crisis and creating momentum for solutions that will transform lives for generations.
The #TeamWater campaign is expected to engage thousands of content creators across YouTube and other platforms to generate content and grassroots support which is expected to result in over 1.5 billion individual impressions worldwide. The aim of the #TeamWater campaign is to foster a healthy viral competition among participants to raise funds, with $35 million of the total goal designated as unrestricted funds to support WaterAid’s mission of delivering sustainable, long-term water solutions. Since its launch, the campaign has already raised over $30.5 million.
“As part of our Global Partnership with WaterAid, Hogan Lovells is deeply committed to supporting initiatives that address the global water crisis,” said Darcy Bisset, Partner at Hogan Lovells. “We were thrilled to have been able to help structure this unique campaign, designed to bring awareness to the urgent need to deliver clean water solutions to people around the globe.”
