Jayshree Balakrishnan focuses her practice on complex commercial disputes before state and federal courts, and white collar matters and investigations.

Jayshree represents a wide variety of corporate and individual clients, including clients in the financial services, manufacturing, and oil and gas industries. Her practice also covers corporate governance and employment investigations, anti-bribery and corruption compliance, and state and federal regulatory enforcement investigations.

While earning her J.D. at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, Jayshree was Chief Notes Editor of the Washington University Law Review and a teaching fellow for the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Program. She gained hands-on experience as a student attorney in the First Amendment Clinic and through internships at the United States District Court, Southern District of New York and the Investment Management Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Jayshree maintains an active pro bono practice and is a member of the South Asian Bar Association of New York.

Advised a Federal financial regulatory agency on a workplace culture investigation.
Advised a global online dating company on an internal investigation into senior executive misconduct, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and mandatory reporting failures.
Advised multiple employees and a multinational investment bank and financial services company in internal investigations and related subpoenas arising from the SEC's review of books and records compliance and off-channel communications regulation.
Advised on an internal investigation into FCPA compliance for a global management consulting company in connection with business practices in South America.
Advised the North American subsidiary of a global drinks manufacturer in matters arising from litigation and other disputes brought by a former contractual counterparty, including matters arising from New York's Adult Survivors Act and Child Victims Act.
Advising a global aerospace and defense technology company in civil False Claims Act investigations brought by the Department of Justice and Department of Defense.
Advising a U.S. multinational oil service company on FCPA, anti-bribery and corruption, and sanctions compliance for MandA transactions.
Conducted an internal investigation to assess a U.S. multinational company's compliance with the FCPA in connection with business practices in China.
Defended an investment adviser and its principal against civil False Claims Act and antitrust allegations through an eight-day bench trial.
Represented a court-appointed guardian of a media personality in an action against the creators and distributors of a documentary.
Represented a global financial institution in an ERISA class action relating to its 401(k) plan.
Secured dismissal of a securities class action against the former COO of a NASDAQ-listed global logistics company.
