Jakeob Brown advises clients on complex financial restructurings and special situations transactions, with a focus on cross-border and multi-jurisdictional situations in the energy, oil and gas, and offshore services sectors.

His work spans complex balance sheet restructurings, loan-to-own transactions, distressed exchange offers, liability management transactions, security enforcement, private credit transactions, and formal insolvency processes including Chapter 11, English pre-pack administration, and schemes of arrangement. He regularly acts for groups of creditors in complex multi-jurisdictional restructurings with associated litigation.

Before joining the Firm, Jakeob practised for 10 years in the London office of Akin Gump and spent time on secondment at King Street Capital Management. He also brings experience from the restructuring and special situations practice of Ashurst (formerly Blake Dawson) in Sydney.

Jakeob is Vice President of the NextGen Committee of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and is active in the Loan Market Association, Insolvency Lawyers Association, and LGBT Bar Association.

Advising an ad hoc bondholder committee on exchange offers in respect of bonds issued by Digicel Group Limited.
Advising an ad hoc noteholder group on security enforcement and restructuring of a US$2bn securitisation programme.
Advising an ad hoc senior bondholder group of Avanti Communications on new financing and a debt-for-equity swap via an English scheme of arrangement.
Advising a private credit investor on distressed MandA, restructuring, and pre-pack administration of a UK casino business.
Advising a private credit investor on the refinancing, debt for equity swap, and new ABL financing for a UK building materials group.
Advising as independent international legal counsel on the settlement plan for Agrokor d.d. under Croatia's Law on Extraordinary Administration for Companies of Systemic Importance.
Advising Fortenova Group on issues arising from sanctioned Russian debt and equity holders in its capital structure.
Advising Nordic Trustee AS on the bond amendment and new secured debt issuance of Telford Offshore Ltd.
Advising Nordic Trustee on the US$600m bond restructuring, Bermudan provisional liquidation, and receivership of the Sea Trucks Group.
Advising the ad hoc bondholder group on the financial restructuring of Seadrill Limited and the restructuring of Seadrill New Finance via Bermudan provisional liquidation and pre-pack Chapter 11.
Advising the ad hoc guaranteed bondholder group on the US$4bn financial restructuring and Chapter 11 of Noble Corporation plc.
