Courtney A. Caruso
Senior Associate Litigation, Arbitration, and Employment
Courtney works with clients through all phases of investigation, risk analysis, and litigation, particularly in matters involving the False Claims Act. She advises and advocates for professionals and companies in highly regulated industries, including health care, life sciences, education, and financial services. She excels in cross-border investigations and recently completed a secondment based in the Hogan Lovells Singapore Office. She also has an active pro bono practice, most often providing representation to immigrant and refugee children in deportation proceedings and to individuals seeking post-conviction remedies.
Courtney joined the firm in 2017 after serving as a law clerk for the Honorable Jennifer C. Boal in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Prior to her clerkship, Courtney practiced in the Boston office of an international law firm, where she focused on litigation matters involving trade secrets and employment contracts.
During law school, Courtney was a member of Harvard’s Criminal Justice Institute and served as an intern at the Trial Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General's Office and at the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Massachusetts. She also studied for a semester at L'École de Droit de Sciences Po in Paris, France. Prior to law school, Courtney conducted historical research as a Fulbright Scholar in Venice, Italy.
Courtney is active in her community, previously serving on the Generation Citizen New England Board; Boston City Awake Advisory Board; and Boston Chamber of Commerce, Talent Development and Retention Leadership Council. She currently serves on the Dana Hall School Board of Trustees.
