Mehtap Cevher Conti concentrates her practice on asset finance, particularly in the aviation and transportation industries.

Her broad-based experience includes working with clients on secured debt, export credit agency supported transactions, revolving credit facilities, leveraged leases, operating leases, and portfolio acquisitions as well as asset-backed structured financings, securitizations for commercial and investment banks, insurance companies, financial institutions, aircraft operating lessors, and airlines. She also advises clients on the purchase and lease financing of corporate aircraft and helicopters.

Mehtap frequently handles finance transactions that involve multiple global jurisdictions. She is a native of Turkey and is fluent in Turkish.

Prior to joining the firm, Mehtap was in private practice, where she focused on global transportation finance. She has been recognized in The Legal 500 US for Finance: Asset Finance and Leasing and by Chambers & Partners for Transportation: Aviation: Finance.

Representative experience

Represented Pembroke Capital in connection with the sale and leaseback of six Airbus A321-200 aircraft for Delta Air Lines.

Represented Pembroke Capital in connection with the sale and leaseback of 10 Boeing 737-800 aircraft for Southwest Airlines.

Represented a European airline in connection with the restructuring of its various credit facilities.

Represented a European bank in connection with a number of term loan facilities secured by corporate aircraft.

Advised NetJets in connection with its investment and lease arrangements with Amber Aviation. 

Represented Wheels Up as aviation counsel in its acquisition of Alante Air Charter. 

Represented Wheels Up as aviation counsel in its acquisition of Mountain Aviation.

Represented Citibank on the EXIM-backed financing for Korean Air Lines for the purchase of two Boeing B787-10 aircraft.

Represented JPMorgan on its first of a kind EXIM-supported PDP financing of three Boeing 737-8 aircraft for SunExpress.

Represented JPMorgan in connection with EXIM-supported financing for Atlas Air, Inc. to fund the purchase of the last two Boeing 747 aircraft ever produced.

Represented JPMorgan in connection with EXIM-supported financing for Korean Air Lines to fund the purchase of one Boeing 787-10 aircraft.

Represented Private Export Funding Corporation in connection with EXIM-supported financing for The Bahrain Petroleum Company.

Represented Stonepeak in the acquisition of Air Transport Services Group, Inc. for US$3.1bn.
