Parik advises asset managers, private fund sponsors, and financial institutions on complex U.S. investment management regulatory matters, including fund classification and structuring, adviser registration and exemptions, compliance program design, governance, and regulatory risk management. He is frequently consulted on novel and evolving regulatory issues, including those arising from new fund structures, strategic transactions, and regulatory expectations affecting private funds and asset management businesses.
Parik is a member of the firm’s Opinion Committee, where he provides regulatory judgment on matters involving the interpretation and application of U.S. securities and investment management laws and is regularly called upon to advise on issues with significant legal, commercial, and reputational implications for clients and the firm.
In addition to his regulatory leadership, Parik has extensive experience in fund formation and structuring, including buyout, growth equity, credit, real estate, and other alternative investment strategies, representing sponsors across the fund lifecycle from initial formation through amendments, restructurings, and successor funds. He regularly leads secondary transactions, including GP-led restructurings, continuation vehicles, and other liquidity solutions, advising sponsors and investors on all regulatory, and commercial aspects of these complex transactions.
With over 20 years of international experience, Parik is a trusted advisor to many of the market’s most active and sophisticated private fund sponsors, valued for his ability to combine deep technical knowledge of U.S. investment management regulation with practical insight into fund economics, investor expectations, and sponsor objectives.
A number of leading sponsors including Macquarie Bank, First Sentier Investors (formerly First State), Qualitas, PAI Partners, Triton Partners, Investec, among others, on fund formation transactions.
A number of institutional investors including Washington State Investment Fund, Adam Street Partners, Allianz, and several U.S. pension plans on their investments across a number of asset classes.
