Dr. Jan Philipp Feigen is a partner at Hogan Lovells' Hamburg office and leads the firm's German Private Equity practice. He is also a member of the global Private Equity Leadership Team. Feigen advises international and domestic clients on transactions in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, and general corporate law. His primary focus is advising clients on private equity transactions.

Feigen was portrayed as one of Germany's Top Seven M&A attorneys in the Handelsblatt Deal Maker series in 2025, recognized as a "Rising Star in Private Equity" by Juve in 2024 and 2025, and has been consistently listed as "frequently recommended" in the Juve Handbook since 2020/2021. WirtschaftsWoche has continuously recognized him as one of Germany's "most renowned M&A lawyers" since 2019 and one of the "most renowned lawyers for Corporate Law" since 2026, and Handelsblatt has included him for many years among Germany's "Best Lawyers" in the fields of private equity, M&A, technology, and corporate law.

He began his legal career in 2011 at Latham & Watkins in Hamburg and also worked in their Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, and Los Angeles offices during secondments. In 2018, he joined EY, where he led the global M&A and Private Equity practice from 2021. He regularily teaches M&A at Fresenius University Hamburg and a Tech Seminar at Bucerius Law School.
