Drawing on his deep familiarity with the EU digital regulatory framework and supervisory practice, Johannes regularly assists clients with sensitive and time‑critical data, privacy and cybersecurity matters, including global data flows, regulatory engagement, and the coordination of multi‑jurisdictional legal input. Johannes represents clients in high-stakes litigation and before public authorities. His expertise in German and European public law allows him to navigate the administrative nuances of privacy enforcement, offering a robust defense and proactive regulatory engagement strategy.
Before joining the firm, Johannes studied law at the University of Muenster, the University of Geneva and Heidelberg University and earned his doctorate in law from the University of Hamburg, focusing on EU digital and regulatory law. During his legal traineeship, he worked extensively on legal issues relating to AI, data and media, including at the Division for General Digital Policy at the German Federal Chancellery, gaining first‑hand insight into policy‑making and regulatory enforcement in the digital space.
