Ewelina is a Senior Associate in the Hogan Lovells international arbitration team. She has an extensive range of experience acting for clients in a wide variety of international arbitration proceedings, including under the LCIA, ICC, DIFC-LCIA and UNCITRAL rules. 

Ewelina comes from a wide international background having practiced across multiple jurisdictions. She joined Hogan Lovells having previously worked as an advisor to the Government of Poland in international arbitration cases. She has also worked in the Middle East advising clients on a range of high-profile matters before the DIFC Courts and arbitral tribunals.  

Ewelina also has an extensive academic experience, having completed her PhD and post-doctoral research in international arbitration and ADR, and is a published author and speaker in the field.

Representative experience

Acting for a security trustee and a US-based lender in three London-seated LCIA arbitrations arising out of a financing transaction entered into in respect of a borrower group based in the CIS region.

Acting for an international commodities group in a dispute arising from the sale of the client’s share capital in a Eurasian oil and gas company.

Advising a global exporter of cement on claims arising from charterparty agreements.

Acting for an international oil and gas company in a Paris-seated ICC arbitration against an Eastern European state relating to indemnities for environmental contamination and clean up.*

Representing a pharmaceutical company in an English-seated LCIA arbitration relating to the interruption of supply of active pharmaceutical ingredients arising as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.*

Acting for an Indian manufacturer in a London-seated ICC arbitration with a Belgian engineering company concerning alleged patent infringement.*

Acting in a DIFC-seated LCIA arbitration relating to the management of a five-star hotel in Dubai and in ancillary litigation before the DIFC court concerning obtaining and enforcing an injunction.*

Acting for one of the largest Middle Eastern telecommunications companies in a DIFC-seated LCIA arbitration with an American satellite bandwidth provider.*

Advising a global mineral processing corporation in a dispute with an Indian state-owned Employer arising from a suite of contracts for construction and operation of an alumina refinery in India.*

Acting for one of the largest Middle Eastern commodities companies in a London-seated LCIA arbitration arising out of an aluminium fluoride supply agreement.*

Acting for a UK energy company in a London-seated arbitration concerning the termination of a long-term contract for the generation of power from gas produced at a UK landfillsite.*

Acting for an global commodities group in a Singapore-seated ICC arbitration against a Chinese contractor arising from a contract for construction and operation of an iron ore processing plant.*

Acting for a multinational mining corporation in a Johannesburg-seated UNCITRAL arbitration against a southern African joint venture partner in a copper mine project.*

Acting for one of the largest chemical companies in Europe in a post-M&A dispute involving breach of warranties.

Advising one of the largest global energy companies in a dispute regarding supply of biofuels.
