Miguel Zaldivar serves as CEO of Hogan Lovells, a US$3 billion global elite firm representing multinational corporations and state owned entities at the intersection of business and government.

As CEO, Miguel is positioning Hogan Lovells as a global force that shapes outcomes in business, government, and the world economy. Under his leadership, Hogan Lovells has delivered record financial results, enhanced its global footprint, and strengthened its focus on providing exceptional legal services in highly regulated sectors.

In challenging macroeconomic and geopolitical environments – all impacting business worldwide – the firm has significantly expanded its position in the legal market during Miguel’s five-year tenure. Hogan Lovells has been widely recognized for its deliberate and balanced strategy across practices and regions; industry-leading financial strength; and significant high-profile, cross-border engagements in highly regulated industry sectors.

Grounded in five strategic priorities, Miguel’s vision for Hogan Lovells is focused on reinforcing the firm’s commitment to “Our Clients,” “Our People,” “Our Investments,” “Our Firm,” and “Our Society.” He has set forth an ambitious growth strategy for the firm aligned with the G20’s economic and financial priorities – and focused on investing in high-potential markets, deepening multinational client relationships, and protecting what makes the firm unique: Hogan Lovells’ ambitious and supportive culture.

With unmatched sector strategy, global reach, and a strong commitment to innovation, Miguel has set a clear and unifying mission for the firm: to be vital for change.

Miguel brings a rare perspective that defines the firm’s global mandate and edge. As a practicing lawyer, he built a reputation as a leading cross-border dealmaker, guiding over US$75 billion in complex transactions with a focus on major project developments in Latin America. According to the University of Miami School of Law, Miguel “has been a guiding light for clients in major international transactions.” The Deal, in turn, calls him "a diplomat in a lawyer’s clothing.”

Before becoming CEO, Miguel shaped Hogan Lovells’ international platform through key leadership roles, including Regional Managing Partner for Asia Pacific and the Middle East based in Hong Kong; co-leader of the Infrastructure, Energy, Resources, and Projects practice; Board Member; and co-head of the Latin America practice based in Miami.

A lifelong educator and mentor, he previously taught "Project Development and Finance in Latin America" at the University of Miami School of Law and was a professor of law at Universidad Católica in Venezuela.
