Amsterdam, 2 June 2025 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised on the financing of the Rosewood Amsterdam, a project that redefines “room with a view” and sets a new bar for elegance in the Dutch capital. Rosewood Amsterdam marks the luxury brand's entry into the Netherlands, housed in the historic, monumental former Palace of Justice, originally dating from 1665. This development is the most significant new hotel opening in Amsterdam for many years, underscoring Rosewood's leadership in luxury lifestyle and commitment to cultural heritage.

Rosewood Amsterdam opened in May 2025, located within the city’s UNESCO World Heritage Canal District. The building underwent 10 years of renovation before reopening as a 134-room hotel, and now features five houses for “residential inspired” stays, plus Dutch restaurant Eeuwen, cocktail bar Advocatuur and a spa.

The Hogan Lovells team was led by Amsterdam-based partner Wouter Jongen, counsel Douglas Gibbs and candidate notary Carola Houpst.
